Mr. Gu Xiaojie was born in April 1959 and holds a university degree.

1990-1995 - Third and Second Secretary, Embassy of the PRC in the Republic of Zimbabwe

1995-1998 - Second Secretary, Deputy Director, First Secretary and Director, Department of African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PRC

1998-2001 - Counselor, Embassy of the PRC in South Africa

2001-2003 - Counselor, Department of African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PRC

2003-2004 - Counselor, Embassy of the PRC in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

2004-2008 - Deputy Director-General, Department of African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PRC
