Peter Seamer is the CEO of the Victorian Planning Authority
Victoria’s population is projected to hit 10 million by 2051,
presenting our state with unique challenges and opportunities.
Planning for this growth requires the VPA to be innovative in its thinking and
implementation, cut red tape and work closely with councils, government
agencies, the development industry and the community.
As CEO, Peter oversees
the VPA’s planning and infrastructure coordination activities to ensure Victoria
has a strong supply of quality housing and job precincts, to keep pace with our
Peter has a background in engineering, planning and management,
with a Master of Engineering Science in Transport Planning and a Master of Urban
Planning, both from Melbourne University. His background encompasses both
government and private enterprise roles.
With a professional career starting in planning new towns in the
UK and Australia, much of Peter’s career has been in Local Government as the CEO
of several cities, including Essendon, Greater Bendigo, Whitehorse, and the City
Peter was also the CEO of Federation Square during its building
phase and its first few years of operation.
