This one-day course is intended to provide participants with a sound understanding of the ways in which infrastructure can be financed, how this has changed over recent years, and what is expected in the future.

Aimed at practitioners in the private and public sector, this session will use key learnings from real life case studies to explore:

-    What are the key principles underlying project finance?

-    How is it different from corporate finance?

-    Why use project finance?  And how is it applied to infrastructure?

-    What is the difference between the funding and financing of infrastructure?

-    What is a PPP and why are they used?

-    What is contained in a well-structured business case?

-    How do you develop a procurement strategy?

-    What new hybrid infrastructure financing models are emerging?

What is value capture and how can it be used to bridge the funding gap?

Why is there so much controversy over the new Federal Infrastructure and Project Financing Agency?

No prior knowledge is required but it would help if individuals had a preliminary understanding of the sector and broad concepts
